About Kimberly

„Enjoy life, eat cake“. Here‘s my story.

One of the most cherished memories of my childhood is the joy of coming home after school and finding that my Mom had made brownies. Mom worked full-time and on the odd day off, she made sure we had something special to come home to.

Sometimes it takes time to realize your passion. I was a civil engineer for over 12 years. A long way from the kitchen, but even at work, I brought in cake for my co-workers!

So what made me exchange a hard hat for oven gloves?

The unassuming landscapes from my youth gave way to the beautiful mountains of Switzerland in 2007. While discovering an exciting new culture and language, I turned to baking as a way of communicating, of saying 'Thank You' to my newfound Swiss and international friends. Out of that desire to continue communicating and making beautiful and delicious things, a business idea was born.

In 2012 I took the opportunity to attend Le Cordon Bleu in London to formalize my cuisine and patisserie training. And now, after many trials, tests and tasting, I offer my versions of cake, cheesecake, and all sorts of sweet creations as Kimberly Desserts here in Switzerland.

I am happy to provide you one of my desserts, or one from your happy memories, to enjoy with your friends and family. As Julia Child said, “A party without cake is just a meeting.” Well, I think that with one of my desserts your party becomes a true celebration. And we all need a bit of celebration even on the most unexpected days.
